Airvana appoints key executives to manage focused femtocell and macro radio access network businesses

Chelmsford, MA – Oct 07, 2010– Airvana today announced that it has appointed General Managers for each of its primary businesses. Both positions have been filled by existing Airvana executives. Mike Clark, formerly vice president of worldwide sales, marketing and technical services takes on responsibility for Airvana Corp.’s  femtocell business. Mark Rau, formerly vice president of engineering & operations, will lead Airvana Network Solution’s macro EV-DO radio access network (RAN) business.

Commenting on the appointments, Randy Battat, president and chief executive officer said, “Airvana’s two businesses are at very different stages of development. Our macro RAN business is an established operation with longstanding customer relationships and significant scale, while the femtocell business addresses a young and rapidly developing market. Each business, and the customers it serves, needs its own unique focus, leadership, and organization. Both Mark and Mike are seasoned Airvana executives with the right skills and experience to manage the operations they head.”
