Prior to joining Airvana, Jagan was a Senior Software Architect at Photonex where he was responsible for architecture and delivery of system software and protocols for an ultra-long haul optical network system. Jagan started his career in research in the areas of congestion control, performance of TCP/IP networks and performance in ATM networks. He has authored several papers and has made several presentations and tutorials in the areas of Quality of Service, congestion control and TCP/IP. In Bay Networks, later Nortel Networks, Jagan was part of the high end router team as a senior architect in the software group where he was responsible for the control plane software controlling the high speed fabric. Jagan also has 8 US Patents to his name in the areas of routing protocols, VPN protocols and algorithms for scheduling in high speed fabrics. Jagan has a B.Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology in Chennai, India, MS from North Carolina State University and a PhD from Columbia University in New York.
